ABOUT US



Introduction

 Anur is a holy  village near Kamarpukur , the birth place of Thakur Sree Ramakrishna , in the district of Hooghly, West Bengal ,  about 100 kms from Kolkata ( Calcutta) . This village is blessed with the foot print of Thakur  who visited the village on FOOT . Anur is also the home ( Vastu ) of Smt. Katyayani Devi , elder sister of Thakur Sree Ramakrishna . To commemorate the holy visit , the blessed villagers established the “ ANUR SREE RAMAKRISHNA SARADA ASHRAMA AND SANGHA ‘’in 1985 with the active and kind assistance of Param Pujya Swami Nirjharanandaji Maharaj . Since its foundation , the Society has been involved in various Religious , Social & Cultural activities in the community ,   as mentioned bellow .





Religious Activities

i)             Daily offerings of Puja,Prayer,Arati and devotional songs to Sree Sree Ramakrishna ( The famous Hindu Prophet of 19th century in India who was born in a poor Brahmin family in rural Bengal in 1836 ), Sree Sree  Ma Sarada Devi (The devoted wife of Sree Ramakrishna Dev , born in 1853 in a small rural village in Bengal )  and  Swami Vivekananda ( The chief deciple of Sree Ramakrishna , and the founder of The Ramakrishna Math  and Ramakrishna Mission , who was born in 1863 in present Kolkata)

ii) Propagation of religious teaching of Thakur, Ma Sarada and Swamiji Maharaj  to the Community.
iii) Celebration of various religious activities commemorating with special calendar dates(Tithis).
iv) Organising monthly religious meetings,Annual "Utsab" (celebration) and publication of annual religious magazine.
